The Age of AI

It is honestly crazy how in earlier years, the thought of AI was so out of the way and wouldn't be coming out with actual products until at least the year 2030. Now, we are in the year 2023, and AI has become much more of a conversation and we are even closer to AI becoming an integral part of people's lives (if it isn't already for wealthier households). On TikTok in the past couple of months, there has been an AI trend going around where people take AI and build houses or hotels based off of different movies or shows. It is scary how accurate each building is with all of the decorations that I even took it upon myself to follow an account that created these so well. They are so well thought out and laid out as well as the fact that there are an indescribable amount of details in each one that make it feel out of this world. This shows how smart AI is that you can just type in "Cinderella-themed hotel" without any other details, and you will get a magnificently accurate hotel that no architect or designer has ever created or ever thought of creating.

So how exactly does AI affect privacy and will it be an asset or the downfall of privacy? Well, I would say that the more that AI technology is being put into products for the public to purchase, I  see it as the downfall of privacy but also for jobs. This is because, with more AI, there is a larger chance of potential data breaches especially if the AI development process is poor or rushed/not well researched. I also worry about the fact that if AI gets too intelligent, it could potentially cause problems for humans as it is technology at the end of the day so there is only so much an inventor can do. But of course, we all hope that day never comes whether it is now or in the future. Because who wants to live in a world like that? The reason why I said it could be a downfall for jobs is because one of the main areas I see AI being used in is in businesses and manufacturing products at a faster rate than humans. Basically, what this will do is cause larger corporations to start firing the workers that create the products manually and instead replace them with AI machines in order to produce more of their products in a concise amount of time and also make sure there are no errors that a person might not always be able to spot.

The use of AI is going to increase as the years go on whether people like it or not. Whether they choose to participate in activities regarding AI is absolutely up to them but, it is only going to increase. It is up to us as individuals to not let AI interfere in our lives too much unless you would like it to of course, and make sure that if you are using anything with AI, to be aware of everything in order to prevent anything bad from happening. Because who knows what AI is really thinking at all times?
